- Bleeding follows the convolutions of the sulci and gyri ( subarachnoid space ) and the appearance will reflect these foldings
- It is more easily appreciated if unilateral but certainly this bleed might be bilateral.
- Remember that the CT head of a patient with an acute SAH might be perfectly normal. You must ultimately rely on the clinical correlation and if you suspect, you must perform an LP since this is the gold standard of exclusion.
