Ankle Dislocation……..No Fracture Copy

 

. . . Please note in Illustration 102 that there is a significant disruption of the ankle mortise but there is only a tiny ?? avulsion fracture anterior to the distal tibia. Although it is unusual, you will occasionally see a non-fracture dislocation ( more common in the young patient ) of the ankle—- the emergency treatment would consist of—

  • reduction– post analgesic

  • ankle immobilization

  • orthopedic consult
