distal radius cradles the lunate and the lunate cradles the capitate i.e. they are all three aligned and centered along the longitudinal axis

As you systematically analyze the wrist X-Ray be sure and note the alignment on the lateral view– the distal radius cradles the lunate cradles the capitate .
