. . A pathologic fracture is a fracture caused by a disease or disorder leading to weakness of the bone. The bony lesion will often take on a moth-eaten appearance. Some of the most common causes are osteoporosis, malignancy lesions, infection, benign bone lesions, osteogenesis imperfecta and others.
